HNC Occupational Therapy Support Course Summary: Designed to introduce and develop all aspects of Occupational Therapy Support. Distance Learning is only for those who cannot attend college due to geographical constraints. Course Content: Context and Development of Occupational Therapy Theory and Philosophy of Occupational Therapy Needs and Rights of Service Users Policies and Procedures Anatomy and Physiology Psychology Sociology Audit Graded Unit Assessment: Continuous, with a mix of practical and theoretical assessments Duration: 1 year (August - June) Attendance: Langside Campus: Full-time: two days in college and two days in placement per week Day-release: 1 day per week (over 2 years) Distance Learning: flexible start dates (over approximately 2 years) Possible Progression Routes: BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy at Glasgow Caledonian University, Queen Margaret University or Robert Gordon University and other institutions at their discretion Employment as an Occupational Therapy Support Worker
