NUMBER OF TEACHING HOURS 16 hours per week TOTAL FEE The 200708 full-time further education fees for UK and EU residents were and have been included for guidance only: Free to those aged 16 - 18 on 31 August 2007, who are starting a new course in September 2007. 230 to those aged 19 or over on 31 August 2007, who are current students and continuing onto the second year of their course, which they started in September 2006. 380 for those aged 19 or over on 31 August 2007 and who are starting a new course in September 2007. TOTAL OVERSEAS FEE 5,000 per academic year ADDITIONAL COSTS There will be some additional expenses for materials and educational visits. AWARDINGVALIDATION BODY CACHE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS None, although applicants will need to be at least 16 years of age and are unlikely to achieve grade G or above at GCSE. Applicants also need to show they have the potential to achieve and have a keen interest in the subject. PROGRAMME CONTENTSTRUCTURE This course is designed for those students who are keen to learn and who wish to access the national framework of CACHE BTEC, GCSE, GNVQ and NVQ qualications in the future. Students will study three vocational units to gain the full award. The vocational units are Pregnancy and the Responsible Parent, Caring for Young Children and Playing and Learning in the home. In addition, students may study additional core and option units for which they will achieve additional qualifications. Also, students will study Numeracy and LiteracyESOL qualifications at their indivdually assessed level. All students will participate in a two-week work placement in a relevant vocational area. PROGRESSIONCAREERS OPPORTUNITIES On successful completion of this course students will be able to progress onto BTEC Introductory, NVQ Level 1 courses at the College or other institutions in their chosen vocational area.
