Engineering National Diploma Level 3 Engineering, National Diploma 1 Year Programme - Follow on from the National Award Introduction A BTEC National Diploma is an Engineering based, work-related, vocational course. It is designed to provide opportunities for students to develop skillls, knowledge and understanding that underpins the creation of engineered products, systems and services. This course is equivalent to 3 A Levels. This offers successful candidates progression routes to either, work Higher National Certificates/Diploma or University. This course has very high retention and achievement rates and prompt application for this course is advisable. Entry Requirements What will I study? The course is made up of an additional 9 units to those already completed on the National Award Engineering. Business Systems for Technicians Engineering Project (Double Unit) Mechanical Principles and Applications Primary Forming Processes Commercial aspects of organisations employing Engineers Engineering design Mechanical measurement and Inspection Techniques Further Maths for Technicians How will I be assessed? All of the work will be achieved through the completion of assignments. These will build into a portfolio of evidence that will be internally and externally moderated. All units are graded: Pass, Merit or Distinction. There are no formal examinations for this qualification. Career Prospects Successful completion of this course will enable students to progress onto: University to study a wide range of degree options Higher National Certificate or Diploma course Employment in a chosen field of the Engineering Industry Materials and Text Books The College library has an extensive lending and reference book stock, in addition to DVDs, videos, and journals. The wearing of Safety Boots and overalls is Compulsory in the workshop. Fees Under 19 as at 31st August Free Over 19 as at 31st August and enrolling on a full programme of study- 470 or 430 if paid in full at the time of enrolment. Fees for studying any individual subject as a day student available on request. If you are in receipt of a qualifying means tested benefit, or you are an unwaged dependant thereof, the fee is reduced to 100. No further reduction is available on this reduced fee. All fees quoted are for British/ EEA Citizens with settled status who have been resident in an EEA country for the last 3 years or have exceptional circumstances or exceptional leave to remain.
