Course Description

Electrical Installation (Level 2) Course modules: Core units: - Working Effectively and Safely in the Electrotechnical Environment - Principles of Electrotechnology - Application of Health and Safety and Electrical Principles. Occupational units: - Installation (Buildings & Structures) - Electrical Maintenance - Highway Electrical Systems - Installing Instrumentation & Associated Equipment - Electrotechnical Panel Building - Electrical Machine Repair & Rewind. Time commitment: 18 hours per week. Assessment: Assessments are obtained in 2 ways: via an online City and Guilds (GOLA) exam and practical skills assessment throughout the year. Entry requirements: You will need to show genuine interest in the electrical industry. Entry is also dependent on an interview. You must have a minimum of 4 passes (C) grade GCSEs including English, Mathematics and Science. Additional information: You will be required to have health and safety equipment and course text books. Progression: Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology and NVQ qualification or employment. Careers: The qualification will allow employment within the electrical installation industry.
