Course Description

Diploma Construction Award - Bricklaying (Level 3) Course content: Advanced technical knowledge of theories and techniques of bricklaying. Course modules: - Assist in Establishing the Operational Area - Assist with Progressing Operations - Assist with Organising Resources - Co-ordinate Self and Others to Erect Complex Brick and Block Work - Co-ordinate Self and Others to Produce Complex Walling Details - Co-ordinate and Produce Complex Construction Aids - Phase Test PT008 - Knowledge Test D718 and D719 or D300 - Health & Safety test required. Special course features: - Key Skills to Level 3 - Tutorial Enrichment programme - Progression to Construction Degree. Time commitment : 18 hours per week. Assessment: All modules are assessed. Eight in total throughout the year, there is a computer based end test and a phase test in the last month of the programme. Entry requirements: You will need to show genuine interest in the Construction Industry. Entry is also dependent on an interview. You must have a minimum of 4 pass (D) grade GCSEs including English, Mathematics and Science. You must also have completed a Diploma Construction Award (Level 2) or Level 2 NVQ. Progression: Completion of this course will allow you to study for a Foundation Degree. Careers: Employment within industry as a Junior Site Manager or Agent.
