Full Time BTEC National Diploma in Vehicle Repair and Technology (Motor Sport) Course Code : FLR3MTV (091001) Prospectus Title : BTEC National Diploma in Vehicle Repair and Technology (Motor Sport) Mode of Study :FULL-TIME At the start of the course you will be asked to pay a returnable ?25 deposit to cover the loan of equipment and library books. In addition you will be required to pay for any educational trips as well as your own stationery or material provisions. All students will be expected to provide their own overalls and safety shoes. Who is it For? This programme is designed to provide a technical foundation on which to build a career in the Automotive or Motor Sports industry. Progression from the programme would be into the related industry or on to higher education to study vehicle design, motor sport or other related subjects. What Does the Course Involve? Core Units: Essential Working Practices and Customer Care; VehicleSystems; Vehicle Electronics; Fault Diagnosis and Rectification; Project Vehicle; Science and Maths; Specialist Units: Engine Technology; Vehicle Electronic Components; Vehicle Electrical Systems; Electronic Petrol Injection; Electronic Ignition Systems; Engine Management Systems; Light Vehicle Transmission Systems; Vehicle Electronic Ancillary and Information Systems; Light Vehicle Steering, Braking and Suspension Mathematics for Technicians Science for Technicians Introduction to E-Commerce Additional Qualification An additional Engineering skills based qualification, Performing Engineering Operations, will be attached to this programme. How Much Does it Cost? At the start of the course you will be asked to pay a returnable ?25 deposit to cover the loan of equipment and library books. Entry Requirement You must have 4 GCSE subjects at Grade C or above which will include Maths and English. Other suitable subjects would include; Science, Physics, Design and Technology. Alternative qualifications include; BTEC 1st Diploma in Motor Vehicle Studies or Engineering or a C&G 4100 Progression Award. Alternative pathways exist for mature applicants. All students will be interviewed prior to acceptance.
