Course Description

BTEC National Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering (Level 3) Course content: General overview and training in the areas of manufacturing engineering directly relevant to the needs of employees and employers in the industry, and an entry level qualification for those wishing to progress to advanced courses such as University Degrees. This course is run in conjunction with ATG Training Group. Course modules: Core units consist of the following: - Business Systems for Technicians - Communications for Technicians - Engineering Project - Mathematics for Technicians - Electrical and Electronic Principles - Mechanical Principles and Applications. Specialist modules (subject to availability) may include: - Health, Safety, Risk Assessment and Welfare in the Engineering Workplace - Properties and Applications of Engineering Materials - Engineering Drawing for Technicians - Computer Aided Drafting - Engineering Primary Forming Processes - Engineering Finishing/ Secondary Processes - Manufacturing Planning - Production System Design. Time commitment: 18 hours per week (may include evenings). Assessment: Assignment based throughout the year. Entry requirements: You will need to show genuine interest in the engineering industry. Entry is also dependent on an interview. You must have a minimum of 4 passes (C) grade GCSEs including English, Mathematics and Science. BTEC First Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering. Progression: HNC/HND in collaboration with ATG Training Group or Degree. Careers: Full employment in the manufacturing engineering industry.
