BTEC National Diploma in Horse Management Level Three | Awarding Body: Edexcel | The Centre for Rural and Equine Studies | Full-Time Course Description This two year course is designed to provide the supervisory and management skills required by the equine industry. The National Diploma is structured in such a way to provide a challenging alternative to A Levels and build on your existing practical and theoretical equine skills. You will complete work experience throughout the course. You will be required to buy your own riding clothing (including a body protector) and pay a small contribution to the cost of trips, which include Horse of the Year Show, Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre, Learning to Listen, competition yard visits. Course Content Anatomy and Physiology Biology Competition Grooming Equine Business Equine Event Management Horse Behaviour and Welfare Horse Fitness and Training Horse Husbandry Horse Nutrition and Health Horse Rehabilitation and Therapy Investigate Project Practical Equitation Riding and Training on the Flat and Over Fences Stable Skills Theory Equitation Work Related Experience in the Horse Sector Additional Qualifications British Horse Society Stages 1-3, British Horse Society Riding and Road Safety Test, British Horse Society PTT, City and Guilds NVQ Level 2, Emergency First Aid, Tractor Driving, Key Skills Levels 1-3 Numeracy and Communication, ICT Career Progression Higher Education e.g. Foundation Degree in Equine Science and Husbandry at Craven College Employment in either a supervisory or management role within the practical equine environment or with ancillary equine employers Is this course available as evening study?
