BTEC Introductory Diploma Health and Social Care Level: 1 Location: RH Years: 1 Course Summary Eight units covering an introduction to working in care and specific units giving a taste of caring and child care issues. How will I be assessed? Through continual assessment. How much time will I spend on the course? Four days a week How is the course delivered? Through a series of classroom based activities relating theory to practice in care settings. Who is this course suitable for? For learners who need more time to develop key skills and literacy levels before moving onto level 2 or employment. What are mandatory modules or units? Starting Work in Health and Social Care, Working in Health and Social Care, Developing Skills in Health and Social Care, Personal Effectiveness and Social Responsibility at Work. What materials do I have to provide? Pens, folder and paper. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? None What can I do after this course? If you gain a merit or distinction and all relevant Key Skills you may move onto the BTEC First Diploma in either Health and Social Care or Children's Care Learning and Development. You can also progress into training or employment. What careers would this course be useful for? Any careers in caring e.g. care assistant, health care assistant or childcare e.g. early years worker.
