Course Description

BTEC Entry Working in the Caring Services What you will study This is an entry level course that will give you a knowledge and understanding of a range of skills needed in health and social care. The course is made up of six units, three core units and three specialist units. These units will help you develop valuable skills needed to work in health and social care. All students take these three core units: - Health & Safety - Improving Your Learning - Introduction to Skills for Work or - Rights & Responsibilities. You also take three specialist units: - Caring for Children - Caring for Older people - Health Emergencies. Who the course is for The course is designed to allow you develop your interests and gain a broad initial foundation within the health and social care sector and introduces you to areas such caring for children or older people or health emergencies. How you will study The course is delivered through presentations, lectures, coursework and outside visits. How you will be assessed All the units are graded on through assessment of unit assignments. Qualification Title BTEC Entry Certificate in Skills for Working Life (Health & Social Care) Course Length One year full-time. Course Availability The course is available at the following campus(es): Rhos-on-Sea Entry Guidelines You need to have an interest in working in health and social care.
