Beauty Therapy (Level 2) Course content: It is a practical based course and students will be assessed on their competency to perform treatments. The theoretical knowledge underpins the practical skills. Course modules: - Improve and Maintain Facial Skin Condition - Provide Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments - Remove Hair Using Waxing Techniques - Provide Manicure Treatment - Provide Pedicure Treatment - Health and Safety - Promote Additional Products and Services to Clients. Special course features: This is a vocational qualification with a strong commercial basis. Teaching will take place in our state-of-the-art College and modern salons, which reflect industry standards. Time commitment: This programme will require approximately 18 hours study per week within college which may include evening and weekend sessions. This will include guided ICT studies. You will also be required to study independently both researching and completing assignment work. You are also recommended to carry out commercial work experience to support your learning. Assessment: You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial working environment. You will also collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects and tests. Entry requirements: All applicants will attend a formal interview with a member of the teaching team. An initial assessment will take place to determine the appropriate course entry level. Applicants will be required to have achieved a minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade D. A high level of commitment to learning and aspirations to progress into the beauty industry must be displayed. Additional information: Students will need to purchase a Beauty Kit, uniform and text books at a cost of approximately ?290. During the course there will be the opportunity to attend workshops and exhibitions at an approximate cost of ?100. Make-Up Kit will be required if the optional evening cosmetic make-up course is chosen at a cost of approximately ?125. Progression: All our programmes are designed to allow you to progress from your appropriate entry level up to university, Foundation Degrees or the work place. The direct progression from this programme would be Level 3 Beauty Therapy, Diploma in Complementary Therapies. Careers: This vocational qualification is designed to equip you with the skills required within the workplace. Positions which would be open to you will include Beautician or Beauty Consultant.
