AS/A Level Communication & Culture Study Times: Part of Full Time Programme Level: AS Level Level 3 - Full A Level equivalent Length of course: AS 1 Year /A2 1 Year Venue: Poplar Centre Age Group: 16-19 6th Form College You will study the nature and definitions of culture, the meanings and practices of everyday life, high culture and popular culture. You will look at your own experiences of cultural practices and cultural products. The course explores how culture and communication interact to turn us into the person we are. You will be encouraged to look at your own culture and connect your own experience to your study and top examine questions such as whether there is a difference between ??-art' and popular culture (like graffiti) and is Shakespeare better than Eastenders? Entry Requirements: To study A levels you will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades A* to C) or an equivalent Vocational Programme at Merit level or above. Qualifications must include either a GCSE grade A* to C in English and Maths or relevant full Key Skills qualifications at Level 2. Where this course might take me: You can progress to university to study many subjects including English, Communications, Humanities, Marketing, Advertising and Media.
