Animal Management Qualification: BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA Programme Area: Landbased Description: This practical course will teach you skills that are important when looking for work with animals or applying to study animal care at a higher level. A BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to three A-Levels. The course is made up of six core units: ? animal health ? animal biology ? anatomy and physiology ? practical handling and husbandry ? investigative project ? work experience There are also ten specialist units in: ? business management ? animal nutrition ? animal nursing ? customer care ? animal welfare ? animal behaviour ? exotic animal management ? farm livestock management ? kennel and cattery management ? horse husbandry. Progression: Higher education at HND or degree level, or a career working with animals. Entry Requirements: BTEC First Diploma at Merit or above in a related subject, an intermediate GNVQ in a related subject or four GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably with English, Maths and Science. Some experience is desirable. Campus : - Usk Mode of attendance: Full time for 2 years
