Aerospace Engineering National Certificate EDEXCEL Course Level: Level 3 - Further Education equivalent to AS/A2 Level, BTEC National Diploma or NVQ3 Reference Number: QET3KA01/CAFAP Introduction The BTEC National Certificate is usually studied in a PART TIME mode but can be FULL TIME mode. The programme is suitable for people who wish to become engineers or technicians within the aerospace or service community of the world. This provides a sound base for joining a modern apprenticeship scheme or progressing into higher education. What will be covered in the course? The Certificate requires the completion of 12 units of study. The programme comprises six core units; Business Systems for Technicians, Communications for Technicians, Science for Technicians, Mathematics for Technicians, Project (Aerospace), Aircraft Workshop Principles and Practice and 12 unit from optional subjects such as Theory of Flight, Aircraft Propulsion Systems and Aircraft Gas Turbine Engines Course dates and times Offered at various times, please contact us for further information. What qualification(s) can be gained? BTEC National Certificate in Aerospace Engineering How is the course assessed? Each unit comprises of three or four modules. Each module has an associated assignment that involves specialist principles and some practical activity. The evidence required from the student is detailed within the assignment brief. There will be an externally set Integrated Vocational Assignment (IVA) for the communications for technicians and project units. This IVA is set by BTEC and the method that has been chosen for national standardisation. All units are individually graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
