Full Time A Level : Chemistry Is this course for you? Chemistry is both challenging and exciting. If you enjoy science and are interested in going to university this course is for you. As a student on the course you will be given extensive practical experience using a wide range of equipment and will learn how to work safely with others. Chemistry is essential for entry into a wide range of professions and this subject is therefore ideal for those who wish to keep their future career options open. This qualification can be combined with other A level subjects to make a full-time course. How long is the course? Two years - AS in year 1 and A2 in the second year When you will be attending. Two 2 hour classes per week When does the course start? September What's the course about? You will study 3 units: Foundation Chemistry Chemistry in Action Investigative and Practical Skills in Chemistry. The course includes a large practical component which allows a hands on approach to develop an in-depth understanding of the subject. Is work experience a necessary part of the course? No, although work experience, voluntary participation and enrichment projects are encouraged. How will you be assessed? This is carried out by completing 2 external examination units and 1 internally assessed practical unit at AS and A2 level. What qualification will you achieve? You will get an AS Level Chemistry in the first year and if you progress you will get an A2 Level in Chemistry at the end of second year. What can this course lead to? An AS Level in Chemistry preferably at grade D is required for entry to the A2 course. It can help gain entry into a wide range of science based Higher Education courses, or into employment. />
