Course Description

The programme offers a wide range of topics within field of Human Bioscience. Biology is a topical and important subject relevant to everyone - cloning, genetically modified organisms, the genome project, the influence of mankind on the environment and many other topics appearing in the media regularly. This course will allow you to develop an understanding of the sciences underpinning the advances in the new technologies and enable you to contribute to informed discussion in this important area. You will need to spend time gaining work experience and forging links with local employers. Upon successful completion of the FdSc programme students can progress to the final year of the BSc (Hons) Human Biosciences at Plymouth University. Foundation Degree graduates may go on to trainee posts in areas such as health counselling, biomedical and public health laboratories, pharmaceutical sales and marketing, health and product development or food quality control.
