Foundation Degree in Early Years Education & Care (0-7) Course ID: PC86030 Academy: Health, Social Care & Early Years Introduction: Foundation Degrees are modern, vocational higher education qualification which blends together academic study with hands-on work-based experience. This particular Foundation Degree has been developed to meet the requirements of the government's response to the national consultation on the future of the children's workforce published in February 2006 ( This sets out the central role that the workforce has in improving the life chances of children, unlocking their potential and creating more socially just communities. This important initiative implies a more collaborative and integrated approach for professionals working with children across agencies and services and reflects the desirable outcomes we would hope to achieve for all children described in Every Child Matters: Change for Children. > Study Mode & Location: This course is available as a full-time course over 2 years, or as a part-time course over 3 years. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR (or suitable outreach venues - details available on request).
