Course review : The Diploma combines theory and its application. It incorporates training and assessment, which can be judged against individual organisation?s documentation and in-house procedures to confirm employees? competence at work. It can be developed to meet your specific requirements. Description This diploma has two aspects ? theoretical and vocational. Theoretical Aspect The following subjects can be delivered by attending our lectures and/or accessing our narrated lectures online. Training needs will be identified with both learner and their manager to tailor training to meet individual needs. Subjects for selection include: Shipping terminology Law of contract, INCOTERMS and business laws Payment methods available within a shipping context. Ships? agency, ports and cargoes and dangerous goods Maritime geography The export process (including forwarding) The import process (including forwarding) Customs clearance Import and export documentation Road haulage Marine insurance Applying skills at work Applying personal skills (including personal development) Vocational Aspect Units are selected from the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration, but assessed in a shipping context: The course is split into units. Each unit is based on a particular aspect or subject that is important to help you develop and prove the necessary skills for working in an administrative environment.
