Course Description

Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Wildlife and Conservation Management (Part-Time) This full- or part-time course is designed to meet the requirements of modern and realistic wildlife management in the UK and Europe. It combines academic knowledge and competence with practical skills and experience. Students typically have a genuine interest in the environment and in wildlife. The first part of the course deals with the knowledge and skills to enable effective management activities. The second part provides understanding of legislative, financial and personnel-related issues. Course features: Level 1 units range from science, habitats and species to land use, IT and communication. Level 2 units range from ecological surveys and wildlife conservation to applied industrial research. Work-based learning with appropriate wildlife management organisations. Entry requirements: College leavers are expected to have passed at least one A Level, with one other studied, or a pass in an appropriate National Diploma (or equivalent). Mature students (over 21) should have an interest in and experience of wildlife management. Progression: The opportunity to transfer to the 3rd Year of BSc Wildlife Management is guaranteed on passing the Foundation Degree.
