FOUNDATION DEGREE EARLY YEARS (SECTOR ENDORSED) Level: 4-5 Location: Hall Green Campus Duration: 3 years In Partnership with Birmingham City University What will I study? Those who participate in this programme will be expected to complement their college attendance and work place supervised activities with 720 hours of work placement and self-directed study to enable them to complete the programme of assessment. You will learn through taught sessions, workplace practice, seminars, research and self-directed study. As well as studying core modules common to all Early Years work you will also study further modules for each of the following specialisms: Working with children aged 0-3 Foundation stage Playwork What can I do after this course? On successful completion of this course you could progress onto higher level courses like the BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education Studies at Birmingham City University or to other equivalent Honours Degree programmes (students with a good Honours Degree in Early Years could access a PGCE in Early Years). You could also take up an unqualified teaching post under the Registered Teacher Programme or a senior practitioner post within Early Years. Requirement This is a Higher Education programme at Levels 4-5 and accredited by Birmingham City University. To enrol on this programme you will need at least 2 years experience of working with early years foundation stage. You will also need to be working with children throughout the course and hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification such as: BTEC National CertificateDiploma CACHE Diploma (DCEDNN) AMA (Advanced Modern Apprenticeship) NVQ 3
