Foundation Degree (FdSc) Equine Studies (Breeding and Reproduction) UCAS Code D429 REP Typical Offer: OCR National Extended Diploma (18 Units) P3 Course Content This programme enables students to follow a 2 year course of study where they will learn a range of practical and technical skills relevant to the equine industry. The course offers the opportunity for students to learn about the structure and diversity of the equine sector whilst developing the essential professional skills of investigation, analysis, and communication which enhance employability. The core of this award is the study of anatomy and physiology, equine nutrition, grassland science and production and applied aspects of equine management and technology. In addition, one quarter of the course is devoted to learning within the work environment where students will experience first hand the range of practical and technical elements which define work in the equine sector. In addition, the Breeding and Reproduction option in this programme allows students to study modules in Reproduction and Genetics and Equine Reproductive Physiology This gives them a grounding in their chosen subject area and together with the core subject material forms the basis of a stand along Foundation degree or the platform for further study towards a BSc in Equine Studies Equine Resources
