Course Description

Two-day First Aid at Work Course (Requalification) Description It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment in which to work. If the assessment of First Aid requirements highlights the need to maintain qualified First Aiders, then this course will continue to provide suitable, highly trained personnel. This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, 1981. Duration A minimum of 12 hours spread over at least 2 days. Ideally, the course should be run over 2 consecutive days, but Caledonia has the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs should you so desire. Syllabus A wide range of subjects is covered including: Legalities, responsibilities and reporting Assessment of the situation Dealing with an unconscious casualty Resuscitation Heart attacks Choking Poisoning Control of bleeding Bandaging Fractures Burns Head injuries Eye injuries Sprains Strains Shock Certification Subject to assessment, all participants will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate and wallet card approved by the Health and safety Executive for a further 3 years. Caledonia First Aid trainers and assessors are qualified and approved by the Health and Safety Executive. Numbers A maximum 10 students can be accommodated on this course and each participant must be aged 16 years or above.
