What you will study The course covers a range of subjects including:- * Legalities, responsibilities and reporting * Assessment of the situation * Dealing with an unresponsive casualty * Resuscitation * Head injuries * Chest injuries * Asthma * Bandaging * Sprains * Strains * Diabetes * Fractures and Spinal Injuries * Control of Bleeding * Burns * Epilepsy * Heart Attacks * Bleeding Control * Minor Injuries * Angina * Choking * Shock (including severe allergy response) * Crush Injuries * Zoonotic Diseasesbites and stings * Drugalcohol abuse and poisons How you will learn There will be a mixture of practical sessions, active participation and lectures. How you will be assessed All students will be assessed by independent assessors on their ability to act safely, promptly and effectively for a casualty, who is unresponsive, requires CPR and who is wounded and bleeding. Attendance This bespoke course can be delivered on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment at no extra cost, thus reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling. The course covers a minimum of 12 hours spread over at least two days. Ideally the course should be run over two consecutive days, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire. A maximum of 12 students are allowed per group. Bigger groups can be catered for but there must be a ratio of 12 students per instructor.
