Environmental Studies AS/A Level Overview The Environmental Studies A Level involves the scientific study of the planet and the impact we have on it. Description This A Level is designed to help you understand the scientific principles that govern life on earth, making you better placed to make informed decisions on topical environmental issues. How long is the course? Both the AS and A2 Levels take one year each. How will I be assessed? Coursework and examinations. What will I study? You will focus on areas of human influence (pollution, farming etc), sustaining the natural environment, renewable energy and eco-technology. What does the course lead to? Government careers in environment agencies and environmental work in ecology wildlife conservation or lecturing are possible career paths. Industrial sectors such as product development, research and environmental science are further employment options. What can I go on to study? If you choose to continue your studies at a higher level, then this A Level would allow you to access a Degree in Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Sustainable Development or even Politics.
