Course Description

Emergency First Aid Training. Course Content: The course shall cover the following areas: First Aid in the Workplace Duties of an Appointed Person Contents of a First Aid Box Being a First Aider Principles of First Aid Samaritan Act Knowing your limitations Emergency Aid Action at an emergency CPR Bleeding Shock Unconsciousness Burns and scalds Electrical accidents There is no examination for the stand alone Emergency First Aid (Appointed Person) Course. Candidates will be observed throughout the training. Training should be repeated a minimum of every three years SQA Certification : Please note candidates requiring SQA certification for unit CU1.3, will require further underpinning knowledge in the areas of Risk Assessment, Epilepsy, Fractures and Poisoning. Candidates will be required to stay for an additional one-hour to cover the required underpinning knowledge and a further 30 minutes for assessment and documentation. Duration (inc documentation) : 5 ? hours
