Course Description

Electrical Installation Level 2 Course Aims: This qualification is the first part (of three) of a suite of qualifications designed for those who wish to progress into a career in electrical installation. This is a full time course that will develop your skills and competence in domestic electrical installation, building site electrical installation and industrial electrical installation. A key aspect of this course is that although full-time, it will run over two days and one night per week for 32 weeks to enable mature students, where possible, to use the remaining time for their own paid work. Students maybe able to opt for Monday/Monday Night/Tuesday OR Thursday/Thursday Night/Friday. Course Content: As well as fundamentals such as health and safety and the principles of electrotechnology, other topics are: the basics of installation, maintenance, highway electrical systems, installing instrumentation, panel building or machine repair and rewind. Progression: Level 3 Electrical Installation (a one year course) that will require significant work experience. This is followed by NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, which requires full time work in the industry. Awarding Body: City & Guilds Exam: Product evidence from practical assignments, Portfolio and online multiple-choice tests. Qualification: Level 2 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology [2330] Level: 2 Duration: One year full-time over two days and one night per week [15 hours] for 32 weeks.
