Course Description

The Effective Recording and Report Writing (ER&RW) course. has been designed to assist all staff who provide care on an individual basis or as part of a team. The course aims to enable standardisation within organisations avoid duplication and further to reduce the amount of time staff participate in the compilation of records, in accordance with Recommendations from Lord Laming. The course aims to introduce an understanding of confidentiality within Social Care. Develop an understanding of the legal and procedural framework relating to recording and sharing of information. Enable candidates to develop their skills in recording information on care plans case notes etc. To increase knowledge and skills with regard to the standards in writing reports. The course introduces why we record, and the Governments objectives. The course specifically looks at the Data Protection Act and the Caldicott Principles. The course introduces varying recording models for example, skin maps, genosocio grams etc. Identifies pitfalls in report compilation. and throughout has a built in staff personal safety and security element.
