Edexcel (BTEC) National Diploma in Animal Management Edexcel Code U5623 Duration 2 years full-time four days at college + one day on work placement Level Level 3 You will need... 4 GCSEs at grade C or above to include English, Mathematics and Science. About the Course This is an advanced-level course, which combines both theoretical and practical aspects of animal care. You will develop practical animal handling skills and gain an understanding of how to maintain the health and welfare of a wide range of animal species. Course Content Areas of study include: Principles of Science, Animal Health, Animal Behaviour, Breed Development and Welfare. You will also gain Key Skills qualifications in Communication, Application of Number and Information Technology as part of this course. You will work towards the following additional learning goals: First aid at work ABC Small Animal Care - practical and theory Work Placements The one day per week spent at a work placement is a vital element of this course, and is assessed for the Industrial Experience unit. What Next? On successful completion of this course, students may gain employment at a supervisory level in kennels, zoos, wildlife parks, open farms or as trainee veterinary nurses.
