Disengagement (Breakaway) Training Conflict in the workplace is a very serious matter especially when you are a lone worker or dealing with customers that could be harmful to you in the workplace. Understanding how to disengage from a situation to get away could be life saving. Course outline: Disengagement in the workplace is an essential tool for many in the care industry or others at events where anger & contact may lead to conflict. Techniques to assist us in disengaging from a situation to allow us to breakaway and get away should be provided as a duty of care for those in this vulnerable position. Who is this course for? Lone workers or anyone who may deal with clients which could be aggressive towards them by holding onto them or possibly attacking them. Main objectives of the course By the end of this session you or your staff will be able to Recognise Anger and know how to deal with it Carry our dynamic risk assessment in a given situation Defuse and calm situations Understand why personal space is so important Be aware of the Law and how it affects you Demonstrate physical Disengagement techniques from various grabs, holds and kicks Duration of the course This is a 1 day Instructor led course which will get the delegates heavily involved and will involve some role play in the afternoon to practice disengagement techniques.
