To achieve the Edexcel Level 5 Diploma in Children and Young People?s Advanced Practice, Learners must achieve a minimum of 80 credits. To do this you must achieve: Mandatory Units: 9 units totalling 46 credits Optional Units: The remaining 34 credits need to come from either optional units or knowledge units; however you can only use a maximum of 6 credits from knowledge units (Group B). NB: A minimum of 56 credits to be achieved at or above the level of the qualification. This qualification is aimed at individuals who are undertaking a career in an advanced social care role within the children and young people?s sector. This qualification gives the foundation to future progression in a range of different roles, which involve health and social care at a management level. Learners do not have to achieve units in any particular order and assessors will tailor learning programmes to meet individual learner?s needs. We will, wherever possible, adopt a holistic approach to the delivery of this qualification and identify opportunities to link the units. If a candidate is not able to complete the full qualification, their achievements will be recognised through the issue of a unit certificate listing the units achieved. Learners who complete the Level 5 Diploma could progress to a Level 7 Diploma in Management.
