Diploma In Bricklaying (I) CAR0003 Is it for me? This Foundation Construction Award course is designed to train learners up to craft level within the industry allowing them to gain a formal qualification. It is a mixture of theory and practical based activities with a strong emphasis on self development. It is useful for anyone that wants to take the first steps in learning this trade to develop a career in this area or for personal development. What do I need? You don't need any formal qualifications to join these programmes but you do need a reasonable standard of basic reading, writing and number skills. What will I study? On this course you will cover the following: Basic Bricklaying Fireplaces Decorative Features Tools, Materials and Equipment Drawing and setting out Drainage Flues and Chimneys Health and Safety Assessment This course is assessed by practical and job knowledge assessments, these assessments are externally verified. Where will I study Skills Academy for Construction The ?6million Academy is home to all of our construction trade courses, including plumbing, joinery, bricklaying, decorating and electrical installation, as well as The Collective - a special partnership of the regions very best Apprenticeship providers. How will I be taught? You will be taught at our construction centre at Stoneygate Lane in Hewith, which is jointly run with Carillion PLC. You will be taught through practical and classroom activities. What qualification will I get? You will achieve a FCA in Brickwork Level 1, which is accredited by CITB. Can I go onto further study? Successful students could progress on to an NVQ level 2, or other tool trade areas. What are the career opportunities? This formal qualification could lead you to be considered for a position in the building trade. Does it include key skills? Key skills are not offered as part of this course.
