Communication and Culture Qualification : A Level Awarded By AQA Course Code: A level Length of Course : Two years Who is the course for? Anyone who is interested in studying the principles of communication within a modern theoretical framework. A wide range of topics are focused upon within classroom sessions designed to allow the practical application of learning. What will I Achieve? A level Communication & Culture About the course: Questions such as, 'What Is Culture?', 'Communication And Socialisation', 'Personal and Self Identity', and 'How do we Communicate?' will be focused upon over the two year course. Theoretical concepts such as ideology, postmodernism, gender socialisation, semiotics, feminism and Marxism are integrated throughout the course whilst focusing upon the students' actual surroundings and 'issues' within their everyday lives. Assessment 50% Coursework, 50% Examination. What else will I do? 2/3 other A level subjects, Tutorial, Key Skills and Enrichment. Next Start Date: September Progression This is a course that aims to see students progress to Higher Education opportunities. There are numerous Cultural Studies and Communication courses available within the UK but skills are transferrable to a number of creative and social science courses. Cost of the course: FREE to UK/EU under 19s not in employment. For over 19s the cost is ?1,194 per year. For applicants from outside the UK and EU the cost is ?4,600 per year. Venue : Luker Road
