City & Guilds NVQ 2 In Health and Social Care (Adults Pathway) Course Code: Not known Duration: Within 12 months What makes this course special? This course will allow you to study for a qualification and earn a wage at the same time. You will have experience of working in the care industry that will enable you to become a skilled care worker. This qualification is a standard requirement of employers in the care industry. What are the entry requirements? There are no formal entry requirements. Acceptance is subject to satisfactory interview and job role. How long does it last? You should complete this qualification within 12 months. What will I study? This NVQ is a six unit qualification comprising four mandatory units plus a further two optional units: Unit 1: Communicate with and complete records for individuals Unit 2: Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals Unit 3: Develop your knowledge and practice Unit 4: Ensure your own actions support the care protection and well being of individual. Plus two optional units from a wide selection How will I be assessed? You will be graded on the quality of your portfolio and by observation in the workplace. There are no formal exams. Will this course lead to a qualification? This is a City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care it may lead to a Level 3 NVQ, which is also available at Yorkshire Coast College. What equipment will I need to buy? You will need folders, pens and plastic sleeves to keep your work safe. These are available in the LRC at College. How much are the course fees? The fees are ?394.00 including City & Guilds registration. If you qualify for T2G the course if free.
