Aimed at practicing electricians with relevant experience - domestic electrical installers and similar professionals (electrical engineers, contract managers, surveyors and related trades) needing to update and enhance their understanding of IEE wiring regulations. Who would it benefit This course and qualification is suitable for practising electricians, domestic electrical installers, contract managers and other related trades with a good working knowledge of 16th Edition Wiring regulations, who have already achieved the City & Guilds Certificate 16th Edition (BS 7671: 2001) (2381) or recognized equivalent to the City & Guilds 2381 since June 2001. This updated qualification is called the 2382-20. This course aims to update delegates on the significant differences between the 16th and 17th editions. It will, therefore, focus on the main additions and alterations that have been incorporated into the BS 7671 2008 (17th) edition. It is intended to ensure that they are conversant with the format, content and the application of the current edition of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2008 (17th edition). Before commencing with this course you will be required to provide the original copy of your City and Guilds 2381 16 th Edition certificate. If your 2381 qualification was obtained prior to June 2001 you will need to attend the and take the online test. Course Outline - Introduction and structure of BS7671 - Scope, object and fundamental principles. - Definitions - Assessment of general characteristics - Protection for safety - Selection and erection of equipment - Inspection and testing - Special installations or locations - Appendices Self-study of the course book is recommended . Qualification There is no practical assessment , the assessment will take the form of an online multiple choice examination (GOLA). It is an open book examination. Successful candidates will receive a City & Guilds certificate after completion of the course. This qualification is a regulatory requirement.
