Awarded by Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Course Aims This course is aimed at aspiring personnel professionals who wish to become CIPD qualified. Through studying the CIPD syllabus, students gain knowledge, skills and understanding in the broad area of management. Successful completion of this one-year programme leads to licentiate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and serves as an entry requirement for the CIPD Diploma. Applications from those not in HR are also considered, providing they have access to company information and members of management to assist learning. The course covers one of the CIPD?s essential fields of study (the Leadership and Management standards) and is a significant step up in terms of study level from the CIPD?s Certificate in Personnel Practice. The Course Aims to provide a valuable insight into both the theoretical and practical aspects of modern management, to improve immediate operational competence and to give students the skills and confidence to undertake further academic study towards graduatemembership of the CIPD. Special Course Features ? CIPD allows The University of Northampton to internally assess candidates ? Experienced tutors, several of whom have been granted Fellowship of theCIPD ? Four additional daytime workshops (in addition to normal Monday sessions) to boost chances of success Course Content Modules are assessed by a combination of written assignments, and examinations. The course team has a good record in helping students gain CIPD qualifications and strongly supports the course philosophy that, in order to be influential in contemporary personnel management, all practitioners need to be conversant with broader business and management issues. Managing Information Career Opportunities The course is aimed at those aspiring to, or already working in, the field of Human Resource Management to provide individuals with greater opportunity for career progression. The CIPD qualification is highly regarded by employers. Most students will progress to take the CIPD Diploma which together with the CPM gives ?Grad CIPD? status.
