IF YOU ARE A PUBLIC RELATIONS PRACTITIONER AIMING TO DEVELOP YOUR STRATEGIC INTERNAL COMMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS THIS PROFESSIONALLY ACCREDITED COURSE IS FOR YOU This course is for experienced internal communication or PR professionals who want to develop their strategic internal communication and management skills. It provides those working in internal communications with a platform for continuous development. On this course, you will take an in depth look at the role that internal communications plays in organisations and in particular those going through change. You will develop your ability to use research to inform effective internal communication strategies and develop successful plans. The course focusses on core topics such as: analysing organisational culture audit methodologies and application change management theory using research to inform and help develop internal communication strategies moving from one-way communications to engagement psychology of communication and the role and function of intranets. In some sessions, CIPR Internal Communications Diploma students learn alongside CIPR Diploma and MSc Public Relations students ensuring that you benefit from sharing experiences and developing a network of colleagues. QMU is the only Scottish institution to offer CIPR accredited PR programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level and to teach the CIPR Diploma and the CIPR Internal Communications Diploma. Structure: This course is taught in blocks and you will only be required to attend the University for one day in January and 2 one and a half day blocks in February and March. This 'block' learning is very convenient for those in full-time employment. Other teaching is delivered via the internet. Support is also offered with research project preparation. Further information is available on the CIPR website at http:www.cipr.co.ukcoursescipr-internal-communication-diploma Course Covers Core modules: - Assessing internal communication - Change management and communication - Applying advanced communication theory - Research project Teaching and Assessment: Teaching involves lectures, workshops, case study, group work and input from senior practitioners and QMU academics. Assessment is through submission of a 6,000 word research project due in April. Careers: CIPR qualifications are recognised as the benchmark for professional practice in public relations by employers in the private and public sectors. The CIPR Internal Communications Diploma helps participants to develop or diversify their careers by fostering a strategic approach to internal communications management. Associate Student: You can also register as an associate student to study single modules in areas of interest. Entry Requirements: - the CIPR Internal Communication Certificate OR - the CIPR Advanced Certificate OR - the CIPR Diploma OR - a postgraduate professional qualification in a related discipline (e.g. CIM Diploma) PLUS one years PRInternal Communications full-time employment (or equivalent part-time) OR - a relevant degree PLUS one years PRInternal Communications full-time employment OR - any other UK degree PLUS two years PRInternal Communications full-time employment OR - two years PRInternal Communications full-time employment and the CAM Advanced Diploma in Marketing Communication Duration: 1 day research preparation workshop in January 2 x one and a half day teaching sessions in February and March AttendanceLocation: A total of 3 full and 2 part days attendance in 3 blocks at QMU between January and March. Other teaching is delivered via the internet.
