Certificate of Competent Management of Electrical Equipment (City & Guilds 2377-01) Level 3 There is a legal requirement to maintain electrical equipment in a safe condition. The Electricity at Work Regulation imposes duties on management to ensure all equipment is frequently inspected and tested by a competent person. This course and the subsequent City & Guilds exam provide managers with the theory and practical for the management of electrical equipment maintenance. The related requirements of: ? the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 ? the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulation 1992 ? the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992 ? the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 ? The scope of legislation with regard to voltage of the system and the legal requirements to maintain electrical equipment in a safe condition. ? Electrical equipment, classifying types of equipment identified and the codes of practice. ? The different types of tests that may be utilized during the life of the equipment. ? Inspection and testing, covering the four functions, identifying the categories of inspection and testing and the frequency of in service inspection and testing.
