Course Description

Course Level: Level 1 Entry Requirements: Students would benefit from access to a care establishment, such as in a nursing home, residential homes, learning disabilities homes and working with young people and in the community. Course Description: This course is aimed at staff who would like to work in the Care Industry working with Adults or Young People or for those wishing to develop their role in the care setting. It is also suitable for new and inexperienced staff. You will achieve a certificate in preparing for work in the care sector upon successful completion of this course. Course Content: Mandatory Units ? Develop your own learning ? Investigate jobs in the care sector ? Prepare for work in the care sector ? Supporting a healthy lifestyle ? Health and Safety in the care setting Optional Units ? To be decided with employer, employee and assessor. Progression: The course could lead on to further care related training such as First Aid, Manual Handling and NVQ level 2 Health and Social Care. Assessment: Students will spend 3 hours per week in the college either as a daytime or evening option, gaining underpinning knowledge needed for the course.
