Course Description

Course Level: Level 2 Entry Requirements: Students will need to have some social care experience and have access to a care establishment, such as nursing homes, residential homes, learning disability and childrenyoung people establishments. Course Description: This course is aimed at students who wish to extend their role in the Care Industry. It is appropriate for people who are new or do not currently work in social care. Certificates are nationally recognised qualifications which are designed to validate and reinforce relevant and up to date knowledge of the social care sector. Course Content: There are four units to complete: ?Unit 001-Developing own knowledge and practice in a health and social care setting ?Unit 002-Supporting the care, protection and wellbeing of individuals in a health and social care setting ?Unit 003-Communicating with, and completing records for individuals in a health and social care setting ?Unit 004-Understanding health and safety practice in a health and social care setting Progression: The course could lead on to an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care if you gain a care worker position. Benefits: You will be taught the theory needed for you to deliver a high standard of quality care. Assessment: You will be assessed through internally set and marked assignments. Course Length: Start date 17 Sept 09 until 31 Jul 2010, 3 hours per week on Thurs at 09.30 Start date 26 Feb 09 until 3 Feb 10, 3.5 hours per week on Thur at 09.30 Course Available at: Castle Vale Campus
