This course will teach you to understand equine behaviour, considering a wide range of factors (the influence of genetics, learning, socialisation and reproductive behaviours, behavioural problems and much more). You will also learn how to apply this knowledge to horse training and to ensuring good welfare and management of your horse(s). What is the Purpose of Animal Behaviour? It is assumed that all animal behaviour is an adaptation designed to support survival, either directly or indirectly. However, this is not always the case. Animals can behave self-destructively, out of habit, or out of boredom, just as humans can.
