Course Level: Level 3 Entry Requirements: APPLICATION FORM REQUIRED. Entry onto the course is subject to interview. Completion of the CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills or equivalent is a requirement and students must be over 19 years old. Course Description: This course is a Level 3 course for people wishing to continue on a progression route to counsellor practitioner training as marked by the CPCAB's Advanced Diploma in Counselling. Course Content: Unit 1: The Professional Framework of the Counsellor Unit 2: The Counselling Relationship Unit 3: Client Diversity Unit 4: The Service User-Centred Approach Unit 5: Personal Awareness in Counselling Unit 6: Counselling Concepts and Skills Unit 7: Supervision and Self-Reflection Progression: On successful completion of both Certificate in Counselling Studies and Certificate in Counselling Skills students may progress to CPCAB Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Board: CPCAB Benefits: This course is designed for people who want to learn about the theoretical background to the use of counselling skills and for those who want to work towards a full qualification in counselling. It is also suitable for people who are interested in understanding people's feelings, motivations and behaviour. Assessment: Internal assessment includes 80% attendance and written evidence of learning. There is also externally assessed work.
