Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Who is the course for? This is a short introduction to CBT and participants should have prior knowledge of counselling, some counselling experience will be an advantage so that skills can be integrated into practice. Please note: this course takes place at Bath Road and not Cannington Centre as previously advertised. What will I study on the course? This course will introduce you to the guiding principles and practice of CBT over 12 weeks covering the various principles and practices surrounding the discipline. You will have an opportunity to learn about the theoretical components and principles of CBT as well as having time for integrating skills into practice. The course will be supported by handouts and DVDs so you will see CBT in practice and is designed to meet all learning styles and delivered using a variety of methods. What other skills will I acquire? Knowledge of counselling with relevant counselling experience. What makes this course special? This set of sessions offers the opportunity for learners to commence an understanding of how elements CBT can be integrated into their own practice. Successful completion of the course will contribute towards continuing professional development. How will I be assessed? There is no formal assessment for this course. Will this course lead to a qualification? You will receive an attendance certificate as part of continual professional development.
