Travel and tourism Course: Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew Code: TSM0023P Duration: 16 Weeks Location: Ashington Main Campus Start Date: 15th January 2010 Interview Required: Yes Who is the course for? The NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew is ideal for anyone who wishes to find employment as airline cabin crew or anyone wishing to enhance their studies in Travel and Tourism. Do I need any formal qualifications? Basic literacy and numeracy. What will I study on the course? There are 6 compulsory units: 1. Understand the airline industry and the role of the airline cabin crew. 2. Promote effective customer care in the airline industry. 3. Maintain effective team working and communications in the airline industry. 4. Contribute to the Health & Safety of airline passengers. 5. Contribute to aviation security. 6. Demonstrate an understanding of the airport arrival process. How is the course organised? 1 day per week for 12 weeks. How will my progress be assessed? You will produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating understanding of the airline cabin crews job as well as underaking practical assessments on board our Northumberland Airways aircraft. Can I gain any extra qualifications while on the course? No. What final qualification will I get if I am successful? NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew. What can I do after completing this course? The qualification prepares candidates for entry to airline industry training. Can I receive any financial support whilst I am studying? Financial support is available and depends on the type of qualification you are studying and whether you are a full time or a part time learner. The Education Maintainance Allowance (EMA) scheme enables eligible learners to receive up to ?30 per week for studying at College, as well as bonus payments of ?100. The Adult Learning Grant (ALG) scheme enables eligible learners (aged 19 or over) to receive up to ?30 per week for studying at College. College Learner Support Funds (LSF) are available and can provide financial support for eligible learners. Payments can be made towards travel to and from College, registered childcare, fee remission and help with course-related costs.
