Course Description

CACHE Foundation Award in Caring for Young Children This course will allow you to gain a basic knowledge and understanding of caring for young children. It will also help develop study skills, time management and working as part of a team. Course content to include: Human growth and development Play activities Health and safety Food and nutrition Care of children BasicKey skills Duration: 1 year Entry Requirements: Some GCSEs at EF grade. An interview and reference will also be required. Assessment: Assessment is through assignments, a multiple choice exam paper, leaflets, wall displays, presentations etc. Progression: Successful completion of the Foundation course may lead to the CACHE Level 2 AwardCertificateDiploma in Child Care and Education subject to a Distinction grade and a successful interview and reference. Additional information: Students attending placement at the end of the course must pay for a CRB check (currently ?36) and any trips.
