Course Description

It is a requirement of Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in. If an assessment of your first aid requirements highlights the need to maintain the qualification of your first aiders, then this course is perfect for you. The course will give participants a qualification to the highest level of first aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations. Duration A minimum of 12 hours, spread over at least 2 days. Ideally, the course should be run over 2 consecutive days, but PES has the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs. Syllabus A wide range of subjects is covered including: Legalities, responsibilities and reporting assessment of the situation Dealing with an unconscious casualty, resuscitation, heart attacks, choking, poisoning, control of bleeding, bandaging, fractures, burns, head injuries, eye injuries, sprains, strains and shock. Certification Subject to assessment, all participants will be issued a First Aid at Work certificate and a wallet card approved by the Health and Safety Executive for a further 3 years. Numbers and Location A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and participants must have a valid First Aid at Work qualification that has not lapsed. We can deliver this course on your site, subject to a precourse assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and traveling.
