Course Description

Introduction ALS has been UKAS accredited for the identification of asbestos in material samples since 1987. All of the asbestos identification preformed by ALS is carried out by our team of experts all of whom are qualified to BOHS P401: Identification of asbestos in bulk samples. Our team of analysts are employed full time to analyse the samples using polarised light microscopy as defined in HSE document HSG248 ?Asbestos: The Analyst?s guide for sampling, analysis and clearance procedures?. Our recently refurbished laboratory enables us to provide our clients with a rapid turnaround of results whilst ensuring that their accuracy is not compromised. Course Information This module provides background and practical knowledge in the surveying of buildings for the presence of asbestos and any necessary bulk sampling that may be required. It also provides general guidance on the management procedures necessary to minimise exposure to any identified asbestos. Discipline: Asbestos Difficulty: Advanced
