Course Description

* This course is subject to validation by the University Meeting the growing demand for a formal consultancy qualification, this course is for experienced professionals involved in, or about to become involved in, consultancy work and who are looking to develop their existing expertise. It will include consultants working in both small and large firms, specialist and broad service practices, professionals establishing their own consultancy practice, internal consultants, and those working in roles where consulting and problem-solving skills are becoming increasingly important, for example, project leaders, accountants and technology solution architects. The course is designed around a consulting capability development framework which will help you develop your consulting to complement and build on your expertise. Whatever that expertise, the course will help you work with clients to solve their problems more effectively and provide you with the frameworks to develop your own consulting practice. The course covers 10 key consulting capabilities in: problem-solving designing and building solutions project management and planning presenting with impact and clarity advocacy and influencing leading and facilitating change client relationship management creating knowledge value service and solution set development building a robust consulting practice. Course content This master?s course has been designed in three stages (professional certificate, diploma, and master?s degree). It allows you to take your learning as far as you want, or to step out of, or into, the overall master?s course to suit your personal and work commitments. You should have a degree, or equivalent experience if without a degree. It is important that participants have prior expertise and experience to bring to the course. The MA Consultancy has as a flexible delivery system, which can be potentially delivered jointly with employers in the workplace, through a 'blended learning' approach, or in a variety of more traditional campus style locations. It is a part-time Executive degree delivered in the first instance at Wheatley Campus. We offer a range of courses to help you meet the academic and English language entry requirements for this course and also familiarise you with university life. You may also be able to apply for one student visa to cover both courses.
