Course Description

First Aid At Work - 4 Day Qualification The HSE approved first aid at work course provides employees with the knowledge and skills to give potentially life saving first aid for a wide variety of medical emergencies. This course satisfies HSE legislative requirements for employers to have staff who are appropriately first aid trained. Resus can also concentrate on areas which are particularly relevant to your workplace. For instance, with construction workers we offer extra training and advice on Suspension Trauma. This is at no extra cost. We use a mixture of power point display, flipchart, and practical scenarios as teaching aids. However, we believe first aid is a practical skill and like to focus strongly on hands on scenarios. This makes our courses fun, relaxed and easy to learn. Instructors will pass on their valuable hands-on experience of emergency care, adding an element of realism to your course. The course is run over four days either consecutively or over two to four weeks. The latter option gives students a chance to revise and practise the course material while allowing employers more flexibility. On the final day, two independent assessors carry out an assessment. Successful students are issued with two certificates of completion, valid for three years: one A4 and one credit card sized (with quick reference CPR guidelines on the reverse). All students are also supplied with a special CPR face shield and a comprehensive book covering the course material. We can hold courses at any of our approved conference facilities throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK. Alternatively, courses can be run at your own premises (must comply with HSE regulations). As with all our full day courses, refreshments are provided.
