Course Description

This course is intended for students who are working towards/ or have completed a City and Guilds level 2 or 3 in Engineering (fabrication/mechanical/electrical/electrical & electronic) and would like to progress further. It comprises the BTEC National level 3 Unit of Mathematics for Technicians and further introductory skills required to aid confident progression onto a National Certificate programme Entry Requirements ?Practical knowledge of an engineering discipline or employment experience in the engineering industry.?A desire to progress to National Certificate level and beyond.?A City & Guilds in engineering or working towards a qualification/first Diploma in Engineering Course Content The Level 3 National Certificate/Diploma core Unit of Mathematics for Technicians How will I be assessed? The course assessment is based upon practical/class assignments and phase tests. All work assessed goes towards the subject grading criteria and the subject will achieve an overall grade, this computes into UCAS points. What can I do next? National Certificate in; Manufacturing/Electrical/Electrical & Electronic engineering. Once successfully completed you are exempt from the Mathematics Unit whilst taking the National Certificate but you could opt to improve the grade achieved during the National Certificate Course if you wish. The benefit of completing this course before attempting the National Certificate enables you to concentrate your thoughts more on the reduced number of academic Units then required during the National Certificate programme Additional costs Please Enquire
