BTEC National Diploma in Construction Overview This course provides a sound introduction to a range of technical and professional occupations e.g. architectural design, estimating, surveying, site engineering, site supervision, building control, land surveying and town planning. The programme will provide an opportunity for you to undertake one week of work experience with a local employer in the first year of the course. Description The course consists of the following units: Core units: Health, safety and welfare Construction and the environment Mathematics in Construction Science and Materials Construction technology and design Building Technology Specialist units including: Planning, organising and control resources Graphic detailing Surveying processes Building surveying ICT and CAD Measuring, Estimating and Tendering Building Regulations You will also be required to undertake Key Skills in: Communication Application of number Information technology How will I be assessed? Assessment is through a mixture of projects , assignments, case studies and coursework. What does the course lead to?
